Here's a peek at what we've been up to and have coming up...
Humane Society International (HSI) is one of the only international animal protection organisations in the world working to protect all animals, so we were really pleased when they asked us to help them with the branding and merchandise for EatKind, their latest campaign. They want to encourage people to eat less meat for the benefit of the environment and people’s heath so wanted something inspiring and upbeat that people will want to wear, read and share.
Anna Celeste Watson is Boo&Stu's Web & Graphic Designer
Born in West Sussex and now living in Dorset, Anna graduated from Wimbledon School of Art in 2000 with a degree in Fine Art: Painting where she specialised in Film & Video. She worked as the Video Editor for Travel TV at Teddington Studios creating broadcast documentaries for Sky TV and online content, until 2001, when she developed an interest in creating websites. Anna then worked for 3 years as a Web Designer for Fresh Egg Ltd in Worthing (now listed in the Top 100 Digital Agencies) before going fully freelance, and in 2015 officially combined forces with her Graphic Designer partner Stu to form Boo&Stu.
The timescale was fairly tight so we worked closely with them to produce the campaign logo. This was then carried through to event banners, merchandise and a printed pocket guide containing information and recipes.
We were also asked to produced a couple of supercute kids t-shirts to accompany the campaign, and have since also created a separate logo tee aimed more at adults, especially men.
We have now also been commissioned by HSI to create a Wordpress micro-site for an upcoming petition for a coalition they support, as well as an infographic for another campaign they are running, so watch this space...
Having created an online housing questionnaire website several years ago for the Elderly Accommodation Council, we have been working with our Associate Web Developers at AccuWeb to redesign London based EAC’s FirstStop website aimed at I&A providers, for resources to help older people find suitable housing, care or financial advice.
Working with a Wordpress theme to launch within a tight deadline, we have created a completely bespoke Home page based on extensive User Experience (UX) work, along with customisation of key project pages, and we hope to further develop the site in future.
Inspired by some of the t-shirts we have created for Compassionate Dorset, one of our favourite clients Cruelty Free International asked us to design a beagle head t-shirt to help create awareness for their new international celebrity endorsed campaign calling for a ban on dog and cat experiments.
The t-shirt was sold online initially for just 2 weeks for the campaign launch and will continue to be sold at events as part of Cruelty Free International's general merchandise.
Following on from the Bournemouth Ambassador system we designed with our Associate Web Developers at DR Solutions, the new Dorset Ambassador website has recently launched.
You can now become an ambassador for Dorset by taking easy online courses to receive your very own certificate from the National Coastal Tourism Academy (NCTA). The website is part of a system DR Solutions has custom built based on the Learndash plug-in for Wordpress, for the NCTA, whose joint goal is to roll out county specific websites which allows residents to become ambassadors through an easy to use learning platform.
Working again with our Associate Web Developers at AccuWeb, we have redesigned the logo and website for Activities to Share based in Kent. They are the UK’s leading suppliers of activity games and resources for the adults with learning and memory difficulties, particularly elderly people with dementia.
We are adapting a nopCommerce web theme, amending the branding, colours and fonts with a few bespoke modifications to the Home page to create a consistent brand experience.
We are also currently working on the catalogue redesign for Spring/Summer.
For those of you who have been following the progress of Stu's very first children's book entitled The Ones Who Walk Above, in collaboration with award winning writer Ben Kaye, we are very excited that it is very near completion so will be launching later this year.
To keep up to date about where and when the book will launch, people can sign up to the mailing list at the simple parallax scrolling microsite that we have created at www.theoneswhowalkabove.com – look out for more site developments too!
We had great fun helping Yacht Gopher create their latest Christmas card below!
We are absolutely thrilled that the Donkey Christmas cards, prints and t-shirts designed by Stu and our lovely client Sam Cannon, sold online, at events and on a Facebook auction run for a few weeks over the festive season, has raised a further £2,734.52 towards our friend Bonnie's Last Wish for Suffering Donkeys campaign. We only wish she was still with us to see the amazing overall total she has achieved, but hope we have done her proud.
We've also been busy working again with IT specialists Prosperon Networks in West Sussex helping them with a new responsive e-newsletter template, and have mocked-up designs for a tablet and mobile version of the THL Accountants site for our Associate Web Developers DR Solutions. We have also recreated logos for FyrDragon and for RentedApps here in Dorset who have sent us some lovely feedback:
"Finding Boo&Stu online as the company locally we wanted to produce our logo at RentedApps was a stroke of luck! I couldn’t believe a company that cool and polished was just in the next town. Their designs looked really unique and inviting and so we asked for a quote. The whole process was clear, efficient and well managed to the end. Stu's knowledge and creativity were ideal as we had a vague idea of what we wanted, but struggled to get it across. The turnaround was so quick – just what we needed as we had a strict deadline. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Boo & Stu's services again and have already recommended them for illustrative and events work."
Sales & Marketing Manager at RentedApps
We are currently working with our Associate Developers at AccuWeb on a couple of other ecommerce websites for some major brands (top secret though!), and planning logos and website redesigns and development for some other fantastic organisations, including the Music of Life based in London - for young people with disabilities and special needs to benefit from the life-changing impact of studying and performing music to the highest standard.
Take a look at some more of our completed projects under Our Work.
If you've got a logo, graphic design or web development project in mind – big or small – do get in touch with Boo&Stu, we’d love to help.
