It's been a while since we blogged, so over the coming months we plan to more than make up for this by compiling some 'Boo&Stu Guides' with our tips for planning logos, websites, infographics and more, which we hope will become valuable free resources for anyone thinking about their company's own design work.
We'll be adding more case studies in the Our Work section soon too, but in the meantime here's a quick peek at what we've been up to over the last few months and some of what we have coming up...
Music of Life approached us to redesign their logo and website to better demonstrate the impact their charity's work has on helping to improve the health and well-being of young people with disabilities, through high-quality music-making. We have really enjoyed working with the CEO Maria Teterina and their board of trustees, especially Harvey Jones who recommend Boo&Stu to the charity after we created a new logo for his own company Refreshing Logic last year.
Do check out the new site which launched this week at www.musicoflife.org.uk.
Anna Celeste Watson is Boo&Stu's Web & Graphic Designer
Born in West Sussex and now living in Dorset, Anna graduated from Wimbledon School of Art in 2000 with a degree in Fine Art: Painting where she specialised in Film & Video. She worked as the Video Editor for Travel TV at Teddington Studios creating broadcast documentaries for Sky TV and online content, until 2001, when she developed an interest in creating websites. Anna then worked for 3 years as a Web Designer for Fresh Egg Ltd in Worthing (now listed in the Top 100 Digital Agencies) before going fully freelance, and in 2015 officially combined forces with her Graphic Designer partner Stu to form Boo&Stu.
We are also enjoying working with local charity Dorset Advocacy, who also approached us to redesign their logo and website, to better represent the impact their charity's work has on defending vulnerable people's rights across the county.
We're really pleased with the new logo and the website which will be launching in the next few weeks, and we've had this lovely testimonial too:
"From the first time I contacted Boo&Stu, until now (halfway through our rebranding and website design), they have been a delight to work with. Their proposal was incredibly thorough, very detailed, and we were invited to comment at every stage of its development. There was a wide range of services offered, each with a price attached, so we could customise the service that we needed and could afford. [They] instantly understood the ethos of our charity, and the aims of the work that we do. I think what I have enjoyed most, is that the message, design and feel of the website is paramount. We have not been bogged down with development issues, which are all taken care of 'behind the scenes'. We feel that we are in safe hands. Thank you!"
Business Development Manager
We've been busy creating or just refreshing some logos, along with related printed materials and adverts, for several local businesses including; Ensbury Vets, Aquae Sulis Chiropractic Centre, Ross Sutherland Heating & Plumbing Engineers, Little Red Hen Publishing (independent publishers of Stu's new book "The Ones Who Walk Above" - look out for a separate blog post by Stu on that soon!) and a top secret high welfare food accreditation / cooperative brand which is right up our ethical street!
We are also working with a new local vegan raw and organic health food brand The Dolls House Kitchen on the logo, product packaging and a new website so watch this space...
Boo&Stu LOVE creating infographics and quite frankly we just haven't been commissioned for enough them! We can't wait for the launch of our latest infographic for a charity campaign for Humane Society UK and we are also planning a new brochure and infographic for Compassionate Dorset, and will be creating our very own 'Guide to Planning Your Infographic'. They are such an effective way to visually engage users with important information and encourage social sharing, and we hope to specialise in them more and more!
We've also redesigned a full colour coded catalogue for Activities to Share (pictured below) who we recently helped with their website and redesigned their logo, and who are leading providers in products for adults with dementia and learning disabilities. Plus, we're continuing to create product data sheets and exhibition stand artwork for our long-standing website clients Loop Technology and Prosperon Networks.
After nearly 2 years in planning, and a lot of late nights and busy weekends (!) we are super pleased that Stu's first illustrated children's book "The Ones Who Walk Above" launch on 25th June 2016 with support of the charity The Badger Trust, and it has already received endorsements from respected wildlife experts and authors including Springwatch TV Presenter Chris Packham, which means the world to us!

As always, we enjoy working on a varied range of projects and design mediums and are always looking out for the next exciting project! Take a look at some more of our completed projects and case studies under Our Work.
