As well as launching the full mobile-friendly version of our very own Boo&Stu website, we have been working on a diverse range of projects; from aspirational logos, user experience improvements, website makeovers and a children's book to an illustrated van. Take a peek at some of our in progress and upcoming projects below...
Stu has been working closely with Scants MOT & Motor Services Ltd who are an independently owned garage in Sussex. They wanted their service van wrapped in bespoke illustrations. The design needed to be fun, friendly and eye catching.
Anna Celeste Watson is Boo&Stu's Web & Graphic Designer
Born in West Sussex and now living in Dorset, Anna graduated from Wimbledon School of Art in 2000 with a degree in Fine Art: Painting where she specialised in Film & Video. She worked as the Video Editor for Travel TV at Teddington Studios creating broadcast documentaries for Sky TV and online content, until 2001, when she developed an interest in creating websites. Anna then worked for 3 years as a Web Designer for Fresh Egg Ltd in Worthing (now listed in the Top 100 Digital Agencies) before going fully freelance, and in 2015 officially combined forces with her Graphic Designer partner Stu to form Boo&Stu.
The van is populated with a mix of relevant words, phrases and illustrations related to their business, with more quirky elements such as ice creams and seagulls included to add humour and guide the viewer around the van. Scants are thrilled with the final artwork and it’s literally just been placed on their van so look out for photos soon...
Stu has been creating the logo for a new exciting and fresh South Coast lifestyle brand called Ocean Rocks which will feature on t-shirts and accessories. Look out for more details soon...
As I blogged about last week, Stu and I have launched 2 limited edition t-shirts available for 3 weeks only, for our friend Bonnie's Donkey campaign to help suffering working donkeys in India, via The Compassion Collective and Compassionate Dorset.
We decided to use the charity t-shirt platform Fabrily.com, as they have the lowest production costs, so more profit for charity, and claim to get a much higher conversion rate. It seems to be working as in our first 48 hours we sold 71 donkey t-shirts & raised over £530 profit, and that's before the relevant charity Animal Aid Unlimited have even had a chance to promote our campaign!
We are now up to 90 tees and have reached the minimum print requirements and we're eagerly watching the sales as they mount up so will see what happens this August...
Our Associate Web Developers DR Solutions are currently finalising the build of a mobile version of the Q-files illustrated online encyclopedia I have designed, which will inform an offline App in future, so watch this space!
Following on from the success of the Bournemouth Ambassador online courses run by The National Coastal Tourism Academy (NCTA), and managed by DR Solutions, I recently created the artwork for their new Tourism Masterclass website which is aimed specifically at business owners and managers. The site is being built by our Associate Developers so look out for the launch soon.
Stu has been collaborating with award winning Librettist and Poet Ben Kaye on a top secret illustrated children's book for some time now, code named TOWWA. After extensive planning and roughs, Stu is now working up the illustrations and colouring in. We can't show you too much so here is an exclusive peek at a detailed in-between stage from one of the spreads as we simply cannot contain our excitement (and this spread is one of my personal favourites)!
Stu is also currently designing a logo for Andrew Newson Precision Trading which encourages people to invest ethically in the stock market.
I'm also looking forward to working once again with the Elderly Accommodation Counsel (EAC) with our Associate Web Developers AccuWeb, to redesign their FirstStop Advice website, after we recently completed a makeover of the Home page and navigation colours, and made some user experience and design changes to their online HOOP housing questionnaire tool.
If you've got a design or web development project you'd like to chat to Boo&Stu about, please do get in touch - we're always looking out for the next challenge to keep us on our toes.
